Diet comes from the Greek “diaita,” which means life care, way of life, or lifestyle.
There are therapeutic effects of foods and medicinal herbs, making diet fundamental in achieving balance and harmony within the body. And according to Traditional Chinese Medicine nutrition, both herbs and food have energetics and an affinity for a particular organ or meridian within the body.
I ask each client for a five-day food log to understand what foods are eaten regularly. I use the food log and consider each individual’s constitution, food energetics & tastes, and organs affected to make diet and lifestyle suggestions to help achieve harmony within an individual’s organ system.
